On the Lower East Side, through a Chinese bakery and laundry, and behind a steel door, is perhaps the most unique recording studio in all of New York City. It is owned, operated, and retrofitted by the Academy Award-nominated composer, singer-songwriter, and producer J. Ralph. His studio is in the old Clinton Star Theatre, which was originally built in the 1910s for vaudeville shows and is now the audiophile’s dreamscape. J. Ralph invited Vanity Fair for an exclusive tour of his studio, a divine museum dripping in cast iron and velvet, and full of vintage microphones and custom instruments. Explore it for the first time, below.

Justin Bieber and Lil' Wayne Photographed Together in Recording …

Pop-star Justin Bieber and superstar rapper Lil’ Wayne were pictured together in the recording studio earlier this week (April 11), possibly hinting at a brand new collaboration between the two. Bieber recently revealed some new pictures on his Instagram account that showed him in the recording studio with none other than Weezy himself; Lil Wayne. It appears Bieber is possibly teaming up with Lil’ Wayne for a new recording collaboration.

Bieber wrote in the caption for the first image he released, “Me and Tunechi in the studio.” In the second photo he posted, he wrote “me and wayne” in the caption. Later on, rapper and Young Money Entertainment co-founder, Bryan “Birdman” Williams, also shared pictures of his own from the session on his personal Instagram account. From a photograph that appeared to be from the same time mentioned by Bieber, he said, “Latenite studio flow @justinbieber music amazin @birdman5star RG YMCMB.” Birdman lauded Bieber, referring to him as his “nephew,” saying, “Day 3 in studio late nite workin with nephew @justinbieber tht @austinmahone song is a HIT just heard tha mix RG YMCMB @birdman5star.”

After Bieber and Lil’ Wayne together were photographed together in the recording studio, Bieber posted on Twitter, “No one knows what Im planning ;).” This may or may not be referring to Justin Bieber teaming up with Lil’ Wayne for a new collaboration and why they were in the studio together.

MTV reports that even though Bieber is not a part of the Young Money/Cash Money  family or YMCMB, Bieber is treated like he’s a member of the family. Earlier this week, Bieber released a picture on Instagram of a Bugatti that Birdman was loaning to the young pop-star, saying, “Uncle Stunna luv. My first Bugatti.”

Bieber and Lil’ Wayne have previously collaborated together before. Lil’ Wayne was featured on Bieber’s track, Backpack, from his last album Journals. In addition, undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. had Justin Bieber and Lil’ Wayne walk out together with him for his boxing match against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in September of last year.

Besides Lil’ Wayne and Birdman, Bieber is also close to Young Money president Mack Maine. He’s posted videos of the two playing basketball together. In addition, he’s recorded music with and posed for pictures with Young Money signee Austin Mahone.

Lil’ Wayne is not the first rapper Bieber has collaborated with. As of late, he’s participated in recording with T.I., Diddy, Rick Ross, T-Pain, and Wale. In terms of the next sets for Bieber and Wayne, Music Times reports that Bieber has a new record due out in the fourth quarter of this year. Lil’ Wayne’s Tha Carter V set will also drop later in the year as well.

The news for Bieber in the recording studio with another superstar appears to be a welcome change to the controversial subjects he is usually wrapped up in with the media. Last month, TMZ released a series of videos of Bieber in a legal deposition for a lawsuit involving his bodyguard beating up another photographer. Earlier this year, he was arrested for a DUI charge in Miami, Florida. So news of Justin Bieber and Lil’ Wayne being photographed together in the recording studio is likely a welcome change from the barrage of notorious headlines for the singer.

Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez Reunite at Miami Recording Studio …

Old flames die really, really hard. Justin Bieber and perpetually on-and-off love Selena Gomez reunited once again at a Miami recording studio on Tuesday, April 8.

The pair tried to keep a low profile, as Bieber, 20, was photographed holding the door open for Gomez, 21. The “Boyfriend” singer dressed casually in a white t-shirt and oversized red hat while Gomez looked gorgeous in a white top and kept her brunette locks down.

The twosome were also joined by up-and-coming singer Madison Beer. Back in 2012, Beer, now 15, enjoyed major exposure when Bieber tweeted a link from her YouTube channel. Since getting noticed by the teen sensation, Beer has been working with Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, and has signed with Island Def Jam.

Gomez appeared content during her late night studio stop by with Bieber, which comes just two weeks after getting served papers. On March 27, the “Come & Get It” entertainer was subpoenaed in L.A. to testify in one of Bieber’s lawsuits. Back in 2012, Bieber allegedly assaulted a photographer at the Calabasas Commons while the pair were on a date.

Earlier this month, Bieber also was paid a friendly visit by singer Austin Mahone at a music studio. The stars posed together for a cute snapshot, but an insider told Us that they just “happened to be in the same studio” and there was no collaboration. (As previously reported, Mahone, 18, and Gomez were briefly linked together back in January.)
